The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore has issued a travel advisory that said hand-carry luggage could be brought on board on all flights leaving from Singapore's Changi Airport, including flights to the UK and US.
Liquid, gels and aerosols can be carried on all flights departing from Changi with the following exceptions:
a. Passengers travelling on US carriers, namely United Airlines and Northwest Airlines, must check-in all liquids, gels and aerosols in their checked-in luggage.
b. These items are not allowed in hand-carry luggage on board any airline to the US and Canada, either direct flights or via a stopover in another country.
c. Those travelling to the UK and India to connect to another flight should note there are restrictions on the size of hand-carry luggage (for the UK only) and checked-in liquids, gels and aerosols (for UK and India) when departing from airports in the UK and India.
All passengers can continue to purchase duty free liquor and perfume as usual except those travelling to the UK or India to connect to another flight and those travelling to the US or Canada via a stoppover point.
Special arrangements can be made for duty free purchases of liquor and perfume to be brought directly to the gatehold rooms for passengers travelling on Singapore Airlines direct flights to the US, United flights to Hong Kong and Narita and Northwest flights to Narita.
Passengers travelling to US and UK airports have been advised to check-in at least three hours prior to departure. For more information, go to www.changiairport.com.
